Therapeutic Touch International Association Congress was held April 21-23, 2017. On the first day of the congress I did a presentation on the Therapeutic Touch Practitioner Certificate Program from Langara College.  It was very well received!

There were people from 8 different countries at the congress which was held in Itasca, Illinois, just outside of Chicago. It was really neat to hear what a big influence Therapeutic Touch is having around the world! One person, Peninah Abatoni, living in Rwanda, Africa teaches Therapeutic Touch to villagers who go out into the community and provide Therapeutic Touch to both their village and those in the surrounding countryside. On one occasion she taught 1 man and 1 woman from 50 different villages! This is an area that was hit hard by both genocide and AIDS. When she teaches Therapeutic Touch it is all free as the participants have no money to pay. She arranges free transportation and a lunch for them as well. Most, if not all of the congress participants, donated money for Peninah to continue teaching TT. Peninah is working on having at least one of Dolores Krieger’s books translated into their native language! The work she and so many others are doing is inspiring!!!
